Does bismuth in biogas form deposits like siloxane?
Bismuth in biogas? YES! And we encounter it increasingly often, because it forms poorly soluble and crystalline deposits – similar to those known to us from the combustion of siloxanes.

Biogas testing – why is it worth ensuring it complies with the Cogenerator’s Technical and Operating Documentation? WHY? Read on…
Silicon compounds in biogas - a reason for satisfaction or a cause of problems?
Volatile silicon compounds, including siloxanes, are one of the greatest operational challenges of biogas — especially that originating from waste landfills and sewage treatment plants.
Biomethane Analysis and Testing
At our Laboratory, you can have your biomethane analyzed. We carry out biomethane testing in accordance with the ST-IGG-3501 standard. Our chromatographic analyses are based on scientific knowledge and hands-on experience. We test biomethane for purity across more than 20 analytical parameters, including mercury (Hg) and bismuth (Bi).
Biogas Analysis and Testing
For many years, we have been performing professional biogas analysis at our Laboratory. We provide services for clients throughout Poland as well as partners across the European Union. We offer a wide range of tests with fast turnaround times. We sell supplements for agricultural biogas plants, rent out various types of biogas purification filters, and calibrate analyzers.
Methane fermentation depends on numerous chemical, physical, and biological factors. The quality of this type of fuel depends, among other things, on the type of biomass, dry matter content, organic substance content, temperature, and homogenization method. The biogas analysis carried out at our Laboratory determines the percentage composition and calorific value of the biogas mixture, as well as the content of contaminants — including siloxanes. We test the substrate’s content of volatile organic acids (VOA), determine the concentration of trace elements (in the gas and in the leachate), and also carry out emissions testing. The energy efficiency of these fuels depends on the composition and characteristics of the raw materials as well as on how the biomethanization process is carried out. Understanding the nature of the process and correctly interpreting the test results makes it possible to select the right conditions for chemical and biological processes, thereby achieving high-quality biogas.
At our Laboratory, we test gaseous fuels (biogas/natural gas), provide oil analysis and testing services, and manufacture biogas purification systems (CARBON FILTERS and DESULFURIZERS). We provide comprehensive services covering biogas analysis, report preparation, and — importantly — discussion of the results, which we know how to interpret correctly for you! Our staff are a team of professionals and analysts who carry out the commissioned tests with passion, dedication, and precision. We ensure the continuous development of their qualifications and the ongoing scientific development of the Lab, so as to stay up to date with this rapidly evolving industry.
Biogas Plants / Biomethane Plants / Wastewater Treatment Plants / Landfills
We have extensive experience equipping biogas-producing facilities, including biogas plants. At our laboratory, we carry out specialized biogas testing for companies using renewable energy sources from all across Europe.
We equip facilities with fixed and mobile biogas dryers and filters. We provide expert advice on selecting innovative equipment for biogas plants. Biogas production takes place through the process of anaerobic methane fermentation, which is why high-quality equipment and substrates used at such facilities are so important. A biogas plant is a set of equipment that simultaneously produces thermal energy, electrical energy, and eco-friendly fertilizer. The complex structure of this equipment makes it essential to use durable components and to have oversight from experts — such as our staff.
What Does Biogas/Biomethane Testing Involve?
This popular, renewable energy source requires constant monitoring of its composition — that is, regular testing and control of biogas contaminants. At our laboratory, we carry out analyses of siloxanes, volatile organic compounds, and engine deposits. Detailed testing reveals the exact composition of the gas, making it possible to select the right type of activated carbon. In addition, we carry out biogas testing that:
- determines the methane content and the main remaining components of the mixture,
- determines the content of Volatile Organic Compounds necessary for assessing the efficiency of biogas or biomethane filtration systems,
- checks contaminant levels in full compliance with the generator set’s technical documentation (DTR) or National Gas Grids requirements (NGG),
- determines fuel performance, expressed in units of Methane Number (MN) and Calorific Value.
At our Laboratory, we comprehensively analyze biogas contaminants — both chromatographic and non-chromatographic (most often inorganic). Understanding the quality and quantity of contaminants greatly facilitates the selection, design, and operation of biogas purification systems, including desulfurizers and activated carbon filters. We invite you to explore our full range of services. We provide fast and accurate biogas testing services and equipment support for bio-power plants.
Rely on experience and a well-documented scientific approach! That’s what we guarantee — see for yourself.
